Dramatic transgender stories my focus on the trials a transformed person faces after the conversion, or may be a sentimental story that details how an awkward character finds a new place in society as a member of the opposite sex.

Dramatic transgender makes up the minority of transgender media. Well known examples of dramatic transgender is the Andersonville series by Kelly Davidson and Prudence Walker and the Whateley Academy Tales, by multiple authors.
